A NEW NAME Isaiah 62:1-12

To talk of a new name meant a name was existing before. There will be no need to change one’s name if not to conceal one’s identity and in most cases, which is characterized with not too pleasant past. So many people in history have changed their names due to their background and yet their past still has a way of creeping into their present. Unless the Lord gives you a new name, it is an exercise in futility.

V 1-3 “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God”.

When the Lord gives a new name, it comes with a set of characteristics;

1) The person will be transformed into a new person

2) Sets of new blessings

3) Release of divine favour

4) Failure is turned to success

5) Authority of ease to overcome all inhibitions

Today the Lord shall give you a new name in Jesus’ name.

Prayer point: Father Lord change my name in Jesus name.
