ARK OF GOD 1Samuel 5:1-5

V 1-5 “And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod. When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon. And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon and set him in his place again. And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him. Therefore, neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day”.

The Philistines captured the ark of God from the Israelites during a war with them. They ascribed their victory over the Israelites to their god; Dagon and they carried the war booty; the ark of God to the house of Dagon. What happened next was a great misery to the Philistines! It was a great disaster for their god. the first day they put the ark there, they saw Dagon fallen face down before the ark. To the Philistines, it was a mistake, so they put Dagon back in its position. The next day, the head and limbs of Dagon had been cut off and a more grievous occurrence was that any city they bring the ark into, the hand of God come heavily upon the people of the town. When they wanted to bring it to Ekron, the people rejected it coming into their city; V10 “Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. So it was, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, they have brought the ark of the God of Israel to us, to kill us and our people”! they had seen the power of the living God.
We are the ark of God in this dispensation that we are because we are carrying the divinity of God about in us. There are some things the enemies had stolen from our lives, and if we are the ark of God, all they stole from us must begin to cause the enemies serious problems. It must become unquenchable fire in their camp causing pestilence and tribulation among them.

Prayer point: Father use everything the enemy has stolen from me to torment them until they are returned back to me in Jesus’ name.
