AVOIDABLE DEATH 1Samuel 20:14-32

King Saul was aware that God had chosen a replacement for him, 1Samuel 13:13-14 “And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the LORD your God, which He commanded you. For now the LORD would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you”.

And he got to know later that David was the replacement, V 31 “For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, you shall not be established, nor your kingdom. Now therefore, send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die”.

Jonathan also knew that God had left his father and has chosen David to be king in his stead but he refused to leave his father and it cost him his life, he died a needles death; 1Samuel 20:14-17 “And you shall not only show me the kindness of the LORD while I still live, that I may not die; but you shall not cut off your kindness from my house forever, no, not when the LORD has cut off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth. So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, Let the LORD require it at the hand of David’s enemies. Now Jonathan again caused David to vow, because he loved him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul”.

I have seen people died unnecessary death not meant for them. It was something they could avoid but they foolishly went and died the death of another person. Many youths have been victim of ritual because they joined wrong company. On the other hand, there are people who will deliberately set up other people to die in their stead. Some do this spiritually to renew their own lives from death. No matter how close they are to us or how well they camouflage, they shall all be exposed in Jesus name.

Prayer point: By the power of the Holy Ghost, I will not die untimely for anyone in Jesus name.
