BURIED IN THE RED SEA 1Corinthians 10:1-4

God does not speak to us to reason it; He speaks to us to believe it. When His words come to you, you must receive it, believe it, and declare it. When the children of Israel were leaving Egypt, Pharaoh and his hosts did not want them to go so they pursued after them. When they got to the red sea, God asked Moses to stretch his rod to the sea, when he did, the sea parted for them and they crossed on dry ground to the other side. The Egyptians made to cross after them but the red sea covered them and none of them escaped.

V1-4 “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat; and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ”. Moses was a kind of deliverer in the Old Testament, typifying the Saviour in the New Testament. He led the Israelites out of captivity and bondage into freedom. Pharaoh typifying satan, resisted their freedom but God bruised and annihilated him for the sake of the redeemed. Not one Egyptian or any of their weapons followed the Israelites to the other side of the red sea. All these are pointer to the fulfillment of prophecy in Christ Jesus of what He will do, which He has accomplished on the cross for the sake of the redeemed. As the Israelites crossed over the red sea in total freedom, so also we the redeemed of the Lord are expected to cross over into salvation from sin with total freedom. Nothing representing Egypt must be found in us as it was not found in the Israelites.

Where people miss it is that they do not know their covenant rights in God and let their mentality defeat them. These are freebies that accompany salvation. Hebrews 6:9-10 “But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister”. Aside those things we will enjoy in heaven, there are free gifts that we should enjoy in the natural which includes divine health, prosperity, peace, abundance, freedom, God’s presence, joy etc. Whatever is not of God like sickness, lack, poverty, sorrow, untimely death, barrenness, evil report, insecurity etc should not be found in us. So if any of these are presently in your life, you have to put them in their right place which is inside the red sea. They don’t have the right to follow you into salvation. That is the essence of the power of the Holy Spirit because you can never put them away with your power.

As you engage the power of the Holy Spirit today, it shall answer for you in Jesus name.
