Rest is a covenant from God, V 28-30 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”. As a child of God, we are entitled to rest. It is natural to see trouble but supernatural to reign in the midst of that trouble; John 16:33 “I have spoken these things to you so that you might have peace in Me. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world”. You must believe God for His word, 1John 5:9 “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. For this is the witness of God which He has testified about His Son”.
All problem has an expiry date and you must understand it as such, 2Corinthians 4:17 “For the lightness of our present affliction works out for us a far more excellent eternal weight of glory”. No problem must be permitted to last for more than “a while” 1Peter 5:10 “But the God of all grace, He calling us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, He will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you”. Psalm 30:5 “For His anger is only a moment; in His favour is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning”. Your morning that will terminate all your weeping, sorrowing and sighing has come today in Jesus’ name.
However, you must build up consciousness of divine rest in you. Do not allow any negative thought to rob you of your testimony. As the negative thoughts come, cancel them with the blood of Jesus. Also deliberately begin to serve God well in spirit and in truth and continue to hold on to God according to His word.
Prayer point: According to the word of the Lord, my season of rest has come in Jesus’ name.
