1) Tithing: the only place that it was mentioned in the Bible that God will open windows of heaven to rain down blessing is connected to tithe, Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it”. However, we must balance that the death and resurrection of Jesus has cancelled every curses, Galatians 3:13 “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree”. The implication of this is you are not under any curse, if you don’t pay tithe but on the other hand, you have through your action exempted yourself from the covenant blessings attached to it. Many people are of the opinion that tithing is not a New Testament act, Jesus never stopped it, He only condemned the insincerity of the Pharisees and not the act, Matthew 23:23 and Luke 11:42.
2) Seed: this is a strong desire to give what cost us for a just course, most especially as it concerns God’s work. 2Samuel 24:24 “And the king said unto Araunah, nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver”. It is important to note that God does not need your seed for anything, but He will test your commitment to Him through what He has given you. God tested Abraham to give his Isaac in order to bless him. And when Abraham passed his test, God swore by Himself, which is rare, to bless him. God gave a sure word of victory to Israel through Elisha to three kings, but the king of Moab turned the prophecy down with a strange seed, 2Kings 3:26-27 “And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not. Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land Many ministers have turned the pulpit to medium of fleecing the people through seed, this is wrong.
3) Giving to the needy: Matthew 25:34-36 “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me”. Proverbs 19:17 “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again”.
