In Judges 20, some men of the tribe of Benjamin committed a crime against an innocent man and his concubine. His concubine was raped to death. Because the leaders of the city of Gibeah refused to give up the men that committed the crime the remaining tribes rose in a war against the tribe of Benjamin under the leading of the almighty God. At the first and second attempt to get the Benjaminites, they failed but at the third trial, they conquered them despite it was God that instructed them.
V 32-33 “Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. We may be under the leading of the Holy Spirit to do some things and yet we meet with temporal failure, we must not give up! The fact that God is leading does not mean that devil will not try to hinder us, in fact, that is when we should expect opposition most but we must not give up. God’s instructions are clear, follow the instruction, no matter the opposition the devil brings, keep moving forward.
Isaac thought he had gotten to a place of rest but no. Every well he dug was stopped by the Philistines but he kept moving forward. The enemies pursued him until they got tired and he called the name of the place Rehoboth. You must never give up.
Winners never quit and quitters never win! You must develop a resilient spirit that does not give up at the face of any opposition, no matter how tough it might be.
Prayer point: I destroy by fire, every force that wants to discourage me in Jesus’ name.
