DO NOT TAKE THE GRACE FOR GRANTED Hebrews 2:1-5

Some pertinent questions we need to ask ourselves are why did God save me? Why did God baptize me with the Holy Spirit and power, and why did He give me faith? You must understand that you are saved to save others. You are blessed to be a blessing to others and you are empowered to be an agent of deliverance unto the oppressed.

It is a dangerous thing to be by passed by God because one is not doing what he ought to do. People that took God for granted had ugly stories to tell. While some were given second chance, others never got it. From the Old Testament, examples of these abound. Let us see some.
Esau thought had been prophesied to serve his twin brother; he did not place value on the birthright he inherited. He sought it after with tears but it was too late. Though he waxed strong, from the moment he met his returning brother, he was no longer in reckoning again.
Gehazi was in line to receive the baton of Elijah’s anointing, but he lost focus. He bought leprosy and thereby lost a glorious opportunity to be useful for God. Samson was so full of himself that he indulged greatly in immorality. Though he had the opportunity of repentance, he died untimely.
In the New Testament, Judas Iscariot’s example stood out. Acts 1:16-17 “Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus; for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry”. He was specially called by Jesus into the full-time ministry. He moved in and out with the son of God, he himself performed many signs and miracles, saw the devil fell but he lost his position and ultimately lost his soul.
Do not take the grace of God upon you in vain. Do not postpone the ministry God has called you into for another time because the vision (ministry, assignment) is for an appointed time, Habakkuk 2:3. God might have asked you to be praying for others or might have given you a special assignment. It doesn’t matter today but may become a matter arising tomorrow. Do not take God’s instruction and all that God has done for you for granted. He saved, empowered and blessed you to be a blessing to others.

Prayer point: Father please help me not to take your grace over my life for granted in Jesus’ name.
