THE FRUITFUL HEART (Mark 4:8, Luke 8:15)

This is the fourth and last kind of heart, the fruitful. Nothing about this heart is automatic, no heart was born good, but those that possessed it developed it. Every fruitful soil was made so by the conscious labour of the farmer, leave every ground uncultivated, it will grow briers and thorns.
Let us see the qualities of this heart, Luke 8:15 “But the ones that fell on the good ground are those who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience”. The heart is noble, good, incubates the word heard and continuously bring forth fruits with patience. The summary is we must maintain an honest and sincere heart always. From careful study, the main reason why God rejected King Saul was not because his heart condition was bad, but because he made no effort to change it. And the reason why God love David was because he always maintained a right heart with God. Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings”.
Sincerity of heart is what God demands from us. When you discover a kind of sin or habit in your life and you make conscious effort to overcome it, then you are being sincere. When we make honest mistakes or even deliberate, we must genuinely repent from it.
V8 “But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred”. Notice the yield of the seed sown into this kind of heart is not uniform. Our level of obedience and consistency with God is directly proportional to our yield. If you are in the range of thirtyfold now, persevere more to get to the sixtyfold. If you are in the range of sixtyfold get on to hundredfold and if you are in the hundredfold, do not stop or relax, continue to abound in perfect yield.
It is very possible for us all to have a fruitful heart if we recognize where we are now, be determined and work towards pleasing God always.
Matthew 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect”.

Prayer point: Father Lord help me to the point where my life is always pleasing unto You.
