THE LORD’S ARMY (Joel 2:1-13)

V 1-2 “Blow a ram’s horn in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble. For the day of Jehovah comes, for it is near at hand; a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread on the mountains; a great people and a strong people; there has not been ever the like, nor shall there ever be again, even to the years of many generations”.

The Lord is raising an army to herald the end time gospel. As prophesied, before the day of the Lord, that there shall be an army, already it is coming to pass. There is a generation of majorly youths with strong passion for God and the things of the kingdom. As we have extremists ready to commit suicide for the sake of their belief, these armies have an even stronger passion for the Lord and the Lord has, is and will continue to use them powerfully.

There are some strange peculiarities of these soldiers of Christ, let us examine some. In the physical they might look harmless like the dove but in the spirit, they are fearful; swift like war horses and faster than the speed of sound! V4-5 “As the appearance of horses is its appearance; and as war horses, so they run. They shall leap like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains, like the noise of a flame of fire that devours the stubble, like a strong people set in battle order”. They shall be powerful, contented and not after vain glory, V7 “They shall run like mighty ones. They shall climb the wall like men of war, and they shall march each one on his way, and they shall not break their ranks”. They will not break ranks and no power of the enemy will be able to hurt them. No foe will be able to stand before them as the Lord will always back them up.

V11 “And Jehovah shall utter His voice before His army; for His camp is very great; for strong is He who does His Word. For the day of Jehovah is great and very terrible; and who can stand it?”

Would you wish to enlist in this end time army of the Lord? V12-13 “Yet even now, says Jehovah, turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning. Yes, tear your heart and not your robes, and turn to Jehovah your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He pities because of the evil”.

Prayer point: I destroy by the blood of Jesus every works of the flesh in me that may want to hinder me from enlisting in God’s army.
