V 28-31 “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, [that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? [there is] no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to [them that have] no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint”.
What does it mean to “To mount up with wings as eagles”?
*It is to shine forth the glory of God.
*It is to manifest the faithfulness of God.
*It is to have living proofs/testimonies of God’s faithfulness after overcoming certain challenges.
Example of some people that mounted up with wings as eagles
1) Jesus Christ.
6) Peter and John
All these people highlighted passed through one challenge or the other before the glory manifested. Example of our Lord Jesus; Hebrews 5:7-8 “Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered”.
When God wants to do great things, He makes men pray great prayers. There are diverse ways He makes us do this; He speaks to us and if we are too dull of hearing, He draws our attention by allowing some difficult times in our lives. It does not mean God hates us when we pass through challenges, if we patiently endure, it always ends in glory for us. For you to mount up with wings like eagles, you must wait on the Lord. Waiting upon the Lord is exchange your strength for His. Just as waiters wait on customers in the restaurant for instructions, the same way we are to submit ourselves to God and use us as He wants.
Prayer point: Lord help me to wait on You to mount up with wings as eagles in Jesus’ name.
