Four elements of the world are powerful they are wind, earth, fire and water. They can be devastating in their worst but can be harnessed or channelled to bring great benefits to the advantage of man. Flood (water) which is among the four natural elements of the world has undeniable great powers. Floodgates are adjustable gate or valve used to control the flow of water through the sluice. There are diverse floodgates in heaven controlling the flow of blessings upon mankind and fury of God upon His enemies.

In our text for today, God promised to remove the enemies first before releasing His blessings upon His children. It is expedient we know that there are generic blessings and personal blessings. Rain, sun, wind all fall under generic blessings but when such rain falls, it does not bring forth equal yield on all farms it falls, some have great yields why some not, this is personal blessings.

God promised to open the floodgates of heaven and rain down His blessings upon us; V 23-24 “Be glad then, sons of Zion, and rejoice in Jehovah your God. For He has given you the former rain according to righteousness, and He will cause the rain to come down for you, the former rain and the latter rain in the first month. And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil”. That is the generic part of the blessings but then when this comes in contact with you, you will experience excellent returns in all your endeavours for personal blessings. It is not by labour but by favour. I have seen two people collecting the same salaries but one prospered than the other. It was personal blessings that made Isaac see a hundredfold yield in Genesis 26.

When the world is crying recession and famine, you will always have reason to rejoice because of great personal blessings you are going to experience roundabout this year in Jesus’ name. the Word says, it is the blessings of God that makes rich and add no sorrow, you will know no sorrow in Jesus’ name.

Prayer points: Father open the floodgates of Your blessings upon me and let it translate into great personal blessings for me in Jesus’ name.
