PROSPERITY OF THE SOUL 3John 1:1-4

V 1-4 “The Elder, to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth: Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth”. True prosperity starts from the soul realm to the physical. When we became born again, our spirits was quickened and connected to Christ but our souls need to be renewed every day with the word of God, James 1:21-22 “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves”. Without the word firmly rooted in your heart, you hardly can live a fulfilled life.

You need the word of God in you to fully maximize your blessing in Christ. The devil will always want to corrupt that which you have and if you are not rooted in the word, he will make mincemeat of your life. When the word of God about kingdom prosperity is firmly rooted in you, you are already wealthy and when the devil comes attacking. You will always defeat him. A man of God was on a quest to discover the secret of kingdom prosperity, when he found it, physically he was still poor but he screamed “I can never be poor!” It was a statement of fact because he has caught the revelation behind true riches.

I have seen people that are rich in the physical but there is one stigma or the other in their success story; either they are not healthy in their body or some members of their family have one challenge or the other. It is written, Proverbs 10:22 “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it”. That kind of situation can never be from God and it must be dealt with, with the word of God.

Another instance that is prevalent is you see people that are truly rich but the find it very hard to share what they have with other people. Such people are poor in their soul; God pronounced judgment on the rich fool in Luke 12:12-20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’” Be a doer of the word to be truly prosperous.

Prayer point: Lord help me to be a doer of Your word always in Jesus name.
