REIGNING IN AUTHORITY John 1:12-14

V 12-14 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”.

To really reign in authority, you must be empowered. In this world system, if you are not empowered, you are floating. That is the reason men of the world will go to any extent to get what they want through diabolical means. We complain of bad leadership but if the good ones are not empowered, they can never attain political powers.

But that which concerns us is the power to reign supreme in life. the enemy will always want to subject us to be under him if we don’t have the power of God. You can be living a holy life and yet not be empowered, the more reason why we see bad things happen to some good Christians. You have to place definite demand on God for power deliberately and passionately to get the power.

For you to reign as a child of God, power is most important in your life. Jesus has fought and won the ultimate victory for us and He has transferred His authority to us, we only need to be empowered to enforce this authority. To receive this power, you must be baptized in the Holy Spirit, Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”. The first initial sign of spirit baptism is speaking in tongues. This is not a once and for all action but a continuous experience.

Prayer point: I receive divine empowerment to live a fulfilled life in Jesus’ name.
