After Jesus’ resurrection, He appeared to the disciples and gave them the great commission to into all the world and preach the gospel to all creatures. He further said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned”.
V17-18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover”. Jesus gave power and authority to anybody that believes, to take charge in the spiritual realm that is alien to man.
Many people are living defeated lives despite the fact that they believed and accepted Jesus as their Saviour. It is not satan that defeat them here but their ignorance. One note of caution, being born again does not mean life will be all bed of roses but Jesus promised us victory. What you don’t know will defeat you and that is why you need enough of the word of God in you. The words are the bullets to your gun. When you know the word and you meditate on it and it becomes part of you, you will live heaven here on earth.
Don’t try to figure out the word with your brain, just stand on the promise and believe. If you are like, “let me see whether it will work”, that is not faith but mental assent, but when you say “the word says so, therefore I believe” that is faith. Jesus has transferred power over the kingdom of darkness to you, so continue to exercise this authority in faith.

Prayer point: By the blood of Jesus, I take authority over demonic powers and principalities militating against my life.
