WAYS TO GOD’S HEART: GIVING HEART 2Kings 4:8-17

Another way to endear ourselves to God’s heart is being liberal in giving. According to our text, the Shunamite woman did not know the true identity of Elisha but she obeyed him anyway. It was, later on, she realized that Elisha was a man of God and went out of her way to make him even more comfortable by giving him accommodation. The woman never believed she could have a child in her life, but because of her giving heart, she got one after giving to the man of God.

Matthew 25:34-40 “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ˜Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.” Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ˜Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?”. And the King will answer and say to them, ˜Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me””.

Whatever you have, use it to serve mankind. There is a hand that gives, yet increases while another withheld to lack. Much money can never give you joy but the number of lives you touch will. Also, honour men of God that are watching over your life in ministering to their needs.

Prayer point: Lord grant unto me a giving heart and help direct my giving in Jesus’ name.
