There are some warfare that come against us as Christians, we should be able to classify them and how to react appropriately to them. Because we are in the flesh, some battles will come in the flesh but we should not react carnally against it. Apostle Paul reiterates calmness in the physical and boldness in the spirit in the opening verse of our text. I am not an advocate of dying sheepishly under physical attacks, we should secure ourselves but we must not go on the offensive in the physical.
With the knowledge that the spirit realm controls the physical, we must know where to wage our war against the enemy. Because the forces we are combating cannot be seen with naked eyes, unseen weapons are required to deal with them.
V4-6 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled”.
We are not fighting against flesh and blood so physical weapons like guns cant kill demons. Our weapons are spiritual that pull down demonic strongholds against the children of God. These weapons destroy rebellious voices and whatever is contending with God over His children. Our minds are the biggest battle grounds, these weapons are also potent there, to deal with negative thoughts that the devil shoots into our minds. When our obedience is complete, i.e. when your life is pleasing to God, He will punish and destroy every form of demonic attack against His children.
Prayer point: I decree judgment of God against every enemies of my life.
