Aaron discovered his purpose in life at age eighty three through the ministry of his younger brother, because he was three years older than Moses (Exodus 7:7). He took instruction from his junior brother in humility. It was recorded only once that he erred against Moses, but he learnt from it and never made that mistake again. Because he made himself available for God to use, God greatly honoured him; he was made the high priest for the people and unto God and thus became an institution that even Jesus referred to.
Many a time we look for people who will serve us but not look for people that we will serve! The reason for many mushroom Churches is because many want to be in command and not ready to take instructions from another person, especially if we seem more qualified than them. Of a truth, God called many but not to go solo. The call of God should not make us haughty or proud.
In service Aaron fulfilled ministry, you might be led by God in that direction now temporarily or in permanent case, humbly embrace it. 1Cor 12:12-18 “For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. For also by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free, even all were made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If all the body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If all hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body as it has pleased Him”.
Today, don’t focus on yourself, look out for whom or where to serve and diligently do so, you shall soon become an institution too.
Prayer point: Father Lord grant me the humility to serve humanity in Jesus’ name.
