WHY GOD BLESS Deuteronomy 8:1-18

Why does God bless us;

1) God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others, Genesis 12:2 “And I will make you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great. And you shall be a blessing”, 1Timothy 6:17-19 “Charge the rich in this world that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, He offering to us richly all things to enjoy, that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to share, to be generous laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life”.

2) God blesses to establish His covenant with us, Genesis 17:7 “And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you”. Deuteronomy 8:18 “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day”.

3) To enjoy His glory and lay solid foundations for ourselves, 1Timothy 6:17-19.

4) To abound to good works: 2Corinthians 9:8 “and God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye always have sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work”. This statement is conditional; grace will increase on your life and you will have sufficiency in all things so that you can continue to meet the needs of the kingdom of God and others. You must use the resources to glorify God for it to increase.

5) To contribute to existence: Everything God created is contributing to existence. Plants which are at the base of the food chain produces oxygen which is used by animals while animals produce dung and carbon monoxide which plant uses. The day any living thing stops giving back to life, that day it starts dying. When you don’t give again, the source of your blessing too stops.

Prayer point: Father open my heart to understand the mysteries of Your kingdom in Jesus name.
