A woman of Samaria encountered Jesus by one of the wells dug by Jacob. Jesus asked her for a drink and she was surprised that Jesus, a Jew could ask her, a Samaritan for drink. Jesus told her if she knew His real identity, she would have asked for the living water, which He Jesus is capable of giving. The woman was surprised as to how Jesus would get water without any container. She compared Jesus to Jacob that dug the well, Jesus then answered V14 “Jesus answered and said to her, whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life”. With her curiosity well awakened, she asked for this living water which led to a great encounter in her life.

Jesus revealed some of the woman’s past to her and she was more astonished and perceived Jesus to have some supernatural power. The discussion soon shifted to “Place of worship”, but Jesus directed her to the right path which is “Mode of worship”.V23-24 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth”.
